"The Museum Director and Museum Society's vision for the future is one that builds on the "Old Streets of Detroit" approach in presenting Detroit's history. This approach creates total scenarios in which the visitor is transported back in time."
–DHM - Future Museum Direction
The proposed new addition to the Museum would virtually re-create the Museum to focus on Detroit’s emergence in the 20th Century as the cradle of American automobile culture. Twelve galleries would provide space to create both exhibits and changing exhibits celebrating the people, the industry, and the music that create Detroit’s modern history.
